Aquacom respects your privacy and it is important to us.

Aquacom provides services, so-called SaaS (Software as a Service), to customers worldwide. Our head office is located at Frakkagjerd outside of Haugesund and we are subject to Norwegian privacy legislation. This means that we must comply with the law's requirements for GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) which is set in EU regulation no. 2016/679.

In this statement you will find information about our processing of personal data.

This privacy statement applies to all use of Aquacom's services, both on websites, mobile solutions and cloud services. In addition, all contact with us, by telephone, electronic, written and other contact.

Please note that Aquacom is a provider of a service and by logging in to Aquacom and using this service you give your consent to our Privacy Policy and agree to its terms.

The basis for our processing

Personal data is information that can be linked to you as a person, such as name, e-mail address, telephone number and actions you perform in Aquacom.

Aquacom collects personal data as a result of the services we provide our customers (Companies) on the website aquacom.no. To use these services, people (Users) are required to log in to Aquacom and use the various modules that customers have access to. The users are employees of the companies that use the services Aquacom offers.

The companies use the services offered on aquacom.no as a result of an agreement with Aqua Knowledge AS or Mørenot AS.

We will not use your personal data to send you advertisements. And we will not sell your personal data to anyone.

Your rights pertaining your data

You have the right to request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you. You also have the right to request that we correct any errors you may find in this data.

You may have the right to request the deletion of your personal data, but if you do so, you will no longer be able to use Aquacom's services, which may be a requirement from your employer.

You may have the right to request that our processing of your personal data be restricted. In that case, we may store the personal data, but not use it for anything. You will then no longer be able to use Aquacom's services, which may be a requirement from your employer.

You have the right to object to your personal data being processed by us.
We then ask that you send an email with your reasons to Aquacom Support: support@acuacom.no

If you send us an email regarding your privacy, you will receive a response within 30 days, but usually much faster.

You have the right to submit a complaint to the Norwegian Data Protection Authority regarding our processing of your personal data. Both we and the Norwegian Data Protection Authority will ask you to contact Aquacom Support before doing so.

The personal data

Below is an overview of personal data we collect and process.

Primary personal data
We receive the primary personal data from the customer (your employer or client), the customer's representative or supplier, or from you as a user.

The following information is collected for all users:

Contact information
Name (first name, last name): It should appear in Aquacom who you are.
Email: Used to log in and to send you email.
Language: What kind of language any notifications and other information are in.
Even if we will never send you advertising or other marketing, you may still receive administrative communications or alerts from Aquacom.

Company-specific information:
Company: Which company you work for.
Accesses: What type of access you have.
Localities: Which localities you have access to.


The following information may be collected, but only by agreement between Aquacom and the customer (your employer or client) or with you:

Telephone number: So that we may send you text messages, this is the use of one of our modules. Or so that we can contact you regarding our operation of aquacom.no.
If your company has crew lists at Aquacom:
Job position, nationality, birthday, place of birth, ID-type and - number.

Although Aquacom has customers from all over the world, we started in Norway and all the functionality in Aquacom has been designed to satisfy Norwegian regulations. There is an IMO requirement that ships must have a crew list. In the Norwegian Maritime Directorate's form for Crew list, KB-0983, this information is included.

Secondary personal data
The secondary personal data is created when you use Aquacom.
This means, for example:

In addition to the primary and secondary personal data, there is information provided in e-mail and other communications. Relevant information emerging in telephone or e-mail conversations can be registered in our case processing systems.

Storing of personal data

As a data processor, we are not allowed to store personal data longer than the data controller decides. This means that we will store the personal data for as long as there is a customer/provider relationship or other agreement (some services are free to use).

And we will delete the personal data, as thorough as possible, when the customer/provider relationship or agreement ends or when you or the customer asks us to do so.

But we will never store personal data longer than is permitted by Norwegian law.

How we secure the data:

We secure your personal data by working systematically with information security. All our employees have received training in information security and privacy. Other administrative measures include: Risk management, work instructions, and routines.

We receive ICT services from Tussa IKT AS, Appex AS and Nordlo AS. Due to the nature of the services, they may come into contact with personal data from Aquacom. Therefore, a data processor agreement has been entered with them. Your personal data is included in the data processor agreement.

All of us, Aquacom, Tussa IKT AS, Appex AS and Nordlo AS, secure your personal data through firewall solutions, encryption, access control and measures against malicious software.

About browser cookies when you use Aquacom:

A cookie is a small, often encrypted, text file that is stored in your browser's memory when you visit or interact with a web page. The purpose of this file is to remember previous user settings.

Aquacom uses cookies that help us identify you (or your computer / mobile device) and that help you log in.

Consequences for you

It should be safe for you to log in and use Aquacom. Your personal data is stored securely, we take care of that. Aquacom can be seen as a tool, like other computer tools you use, such as email, it is important that you do not give out your username and/or password or leave the computer logged on unattended.
